Easily find, connect, and network with others at AWS re:Invent through the PeerTalk platform. Opt in to discover attendees who share similar interests—PeerTalk recommends connections for you. Browse recommendations, message people, and arrange meetups through the platform, then sit down for a face-to-face conversation in one of the four PeerTalk lounges located throughout the re:Invent campus. The platform launches in mid-fall and will be accessible through the AWS Events mobile app and the desktop version.
Let's connect
Navigating the app
Step 1. Log in directly to PeerTalk. Alternatively, access PeerTalk through the AWS Events mobile app.
Step 2. Onboard: Accept the Terms and Conditions and complete the onboarding steps. Only after these steps are complete are you added to the PeerTalk platform and discoverable to other re:Invent attendees.
Step 3. Discover: The Recommended page in PeerTalk contains a library of potential connections based on similar interests. You also have the option to search and filter through all other attendees who have opted-in by selecting Attendees.
Pro tip: Select the star icon on user profiles to add them to your Favorites list.
Step 4. Chat: Use the chat bubble on the bottom right corner of your screen to start a chat or reply to one-on-one and group chat conversations. You have the option to accept or deny chat requests prior to chatting. To block a conversation, select the ellipses on the top right corner.
Step 5. Schedule: To schedule a PeerTalk meeting, select the profile of the attendee with whom you wish to meet and choose the Request a meeting button, or you can go to the Meetings tab to select an attendee. Once you confirm the attendees (up to four total participants per meeting), suggested meeting times and locations are generated based on the attendees’ availability and preferences. You can choose to bypass this step and manually enter in the date, time, and location by selecting Skip on the top right. Make sure to enter in a descriptive title and description to increase the chances of the others accepting.
Meeting participants can accept, reject, or cancel meetings through the PeerTalk platform. Confirmed meetings will appear in your AWS Events mobile app calendar and will be removed if they are canceled within PeerTalk.
New for 2023. Group meetups: The Meetups tab has a selection of curated group meetups you can attend. Add yourself to one or many and be ready to network with other attendees in small group settings.
Step 6. The PeerTalk platform will close after re:Invent ends. Make sure to connect with your network through email or social media to keep in touch beyond the event.
You can remove yourself from the PeerTalk platform at any time. You can do so by opting out via the PeerTalk Profile page. Once you opt out, your PeerTalk meetings are automatically canceled.
